for Excellence and Innovation in the Arts
Celebrating Achievements in Arts Education
The College Board is now accepting applications for the 2013 Award for Excellence and Innovation in the Arts. This annual award recognizes the achievements of six member institutions (serving grades 6-12) whose arts programs promote student learning and creativity in exemplary and innovative ways.
One national winner will receive a $5,000 grant to support the continuation and growth of its arts programs, and five regional winners will receive grants of $3,500 each. Applications are due on April 5, 2013. For more information or to apply, visit artsaward.collegeboard.org

ArtsWorcester Announces Grants for Local Artists
An anonymous benefactor has given ArtsWorcester a major gift to spur the creation of new art by local members of ArtsWorcester. To be awarded for three consecutive years, Material Needs Grants will support the expenses of supplies and equipment. An annual sum of $5,000 will be divided into individual grants between $500 to $1,500.
All Artist-level members of ArtsWorcester who reside in Worcester County are eligible to apply for a Material Needs Grant, regardless of experience. Artists may join ArtsWorcester when they apply. To submit a proposal for funds or to join ArtsWorcester, visit the Material Needs Grants page of the ArtsWorcester website. Applications must be submitted electronically. The deadline is Thursday, January 31, 2013.
