Vocational Education, Design & Visual Communications GRAPHIC ARTS Teacher for Falmouth High School

Massachusetts Certification in Visual Arts, Grades 5-12 (preferred)
Massachusetts Certification in Vocational Education, Design & Visual Communications (required)
DESE MA SEI endorsement
Successful experience teaching at the secondary level
Demonstrated experience in successfully engaging with and motivating students of varying ability levels, skills and achievements
Such other alternatives as the Superintendent of Schools may deem acceptable and appropriate

Teach courses in Graphic Design, Animation, Poster Graphics and Mural Art at the Secondary level
Possess knowledge of Graphic Design, 3D printing and an understanding of production methods
Demonstrate expertise in Adobe Suite, including but not limited to: Photoshop, InDesign, Flash, and Illustrator
Develop daily and long-range lesson plans and assessments for each course taught relating them to the needs of the students
Provide opportunities for individual/group instruction
Implement a variety of differentiated teaching techniques and assessments to ensure student achievement and engagement
Draft and revise curriculum units to ensure the scope and sequence of learning is relevant and aligned with the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks
Collaborate with members of the Fine Arts Department to coordinate the vertical alignment of art education
Cooperate and collaborate with colleagues interdisciplinary to develop more effective ways to integrate the curriculum and meet student needs
Ensure that the CVTE expectations for continued Chapter 74 status are fulfilled
Evaluate students' progress in courses and keep accurate grade and attendance records
Attend and actively participate in departmental meetings
Attend and participate in curriculum/other departmental programs and professional development
Maintain professional competence through professional development and/or self-selected professional growth opportunities
Perform assigned duties in line with school and district expectations
Conduct such other responsibilities as may from time to time be assigned by the Principal and/or Department Head

GEEO Travel Programs for Educators

Founded in 2007, Global Exploration for Educators Organization (GEEO) is a 501c3 non-profit organization that has sent over 1300 teachers abroad on adventurous travel programs. With GEEO educators can earn professional development credits while seeing the world. GEEO's trips are 7 to 21 days in length and are designed and discounted to be interesting and affordable for teachers. In addition to amazing tour leaders, many of the programs are accompanied by university faculty that are experts on the destination. GEEO also provides teachers educational materials and the structure to help them bring their experiences into the classroom. The trips are open to all nationalities of K-12 and university educators, administrators, retired educators, as well as educators’ guests.

Art Instructors Needed for Summer Youth Classes

Fitchburg Art Museum is looking for creative, experienced art instructors for its summer youth classes program for ages 5 - 17. Classes run Mondays-Thursdays, mornings and afternoons, for the weeks of July 18 - 21, July 25 - 28, and August 1 - 4.

Candidates must have expertise in one or several of the following media: painting, drawing, comics, illustration, collage, printmaking, and/or sculpture, and be able to use the Museum’s collections as part of lessons. Experience with STEAM curriculum and/or ability to speak Spanish is a plus. BA with teaching experience required, MA preferred. Preference will be given to those who can teach mornings and afternoons in the same week. Seeking Instructors for Children’s Art Centre Vacation Arts Program in beautiful South End
The United South End Settlements’ Children’s Art Centre provides arts opportunities that foster community interaction, self-expression, and development of skills in the arts through hands-on arts education. Over the years, USES has brought fine arts and cultural enrichment to our community regardless of race, ethnic background, or ability to pay.

The Vacation Arts Program is a full day, arts-based program for children ages 4.5 – 12. We are seeking instructors with experience planning and leading arts activities, and with a passion for community arts engagement. The program will run February 16 – 19 and April 19 – 22 during Boston Public School vacation weeks, and from June 27 – September 2 through the summer.

Maine Arts Camp is looking for a couple of art teachers for the upcoming summer. We are a small, creative camp community of 75-100 campers and 25-30 staff. Some areas of expertise that would fit our needs would be in ceramics, stained glass, printmaking and 2-D arts.
